Meet a Nobel Prize Winning Scientist April 22 in Hartford

HARTFORD, Conn., April 19 In observance of Bring Your Child to Work Day, CURE (Connecticut United for Research Excellence) and Boehringer Ingelheim cordially invite you to visit the new Boehringer Ingelheim Science Quest mobile laboratory and meet one of Connecticut's most distinguished scientists, Dr. Thomas Steitz, the winner of the 2009 Nobel Prize in chemistry.

On Thursday, April 22, the mobile laboratory, which is designed to bring science to elementary school children, will be parked at the South Entrance of the Capitol Building in Hartford, Conn. It will be open for drop-in tours from 10:00 am - 11:00 am and from 12:30 pm - 3:00 pm.

At 11:00 am, CURE and Boehringer Ingelheim officials, together with science educators, business executives, government officials, and the media, will gather in front of the vehicle. Attending as Guest of Honor will be Professor Steitz of Yale, who will conduct a science experiment with children aboard the new mobile laboratory vehicle.

The Boehringer Ingelheim Science Quest Program

By focusing on elementary school students, the new Boehringer Ingelheim Science Quest program complements and expands the CURE BioScience Explorations educational outreach service, which also includes the CURE BioBus and CURE BioConnection programs.

Boehringer Ingelheim Science Quest is a program of CURE Bioscience Explorations, an educational outreach service of CURE (Connecticut United for Research Excellence), the state bioscience organization.
