Medica's health activity portal, My Health Manager from Medica, not only helps members understand their current health and potential health risks, it uses Hallmark Insights' Integrated Reward Incentive System(TM) (IRIS(TM)) to reward them for being active participants in improving their health. Medica members earn wellness credits for completing a health assessment and participating in lifestyle management programs offered through My Health Manager from Medica.

Prior to partnering with Hallmark Insights, Medica members could earn rewards through My Health Manager from Medica, however the rewards were dispersed quarterly. The extended time between action and reward presented a challenge to engage Medica members in a way that kept them actively involved in their health. In contrast, with Hallmark Insights, it typically takes 24 to 48 hours from the time they select the incentive until Medica members receive a custom gift card of their choosing. Many merchants offer an online gift card through Hallmark Insights, and online fulfillment speeds the process to mere hours.
"When our members are happy with their experience, they are more likely to use the portal as a way to identify risky behaviors and improve their health," said Vince Pozinski. "Creating a health portal that members will use repeatedly and make part of their healthy life is the primary goal of Medica's efforts."
The immediate incentives fulfillment delivered by Hallmark Insights to Medica members has contributed to the success of the Web site. The integration with IRIS(TM) and My Health Manager from Medica makes the experience seamless to Medica members. As of May 2009, the number of Medica members that completed a health assessment already surpassed the total for all of 2008.
Medica uses the Hallmark Insights-driven incentives through My Health Manager from Medica as a selling point to attract new business. The program is featured on Medica flyers, Web site and in marketing collateral presented to potential new clients.
