Launch of Radon Action Month 2017 and opportunity to tour NRC radon testing facilities and speak with experts and spokespeople |
Who: |
The national Take Action on Radon (TAOR) network and The Lung Association. Hear from a man who lost his wife to lung cancer and found that they had been living in a house with high radon levels. |
Why: |
To generate awareness for radon, because long-term exposure to radon is linked to approximately 16% of lung cancer deaths in Canada and it can be easily tested for and mitigated. |
