"The diagnosis of type 1 diabetes at age 12 was life changing for me," say Domi. "Being a professional athlete has now given me the platform to support those living with the disease and let them know I'm in their corner. Every day is a challenge, so if I can share my story to help inspire others to go after their goals and live remarkable lives, it's worth it."

Domi is dedicated to working with youth affected by diabetes to share his own story and how he manages the disease as a professional athlete. An inspiration to the diabetes community, Domi has made a career out of shedding common stereotypes, and now his beard, in support of T1D research.

Fans can visit Max Domi's #FundRazor for Diabetes GoFundMe page to learn more and make a donation for a chance to win prize giveaways:

There are more than 300,000 Canadians living with T1D.1 Nationally, the average incidence rate has been growing at an estimated 5.1 per cent annually – higher than the global average.2

T1D is an autoimmune disease that occurs when the body's immune system attacks and destroys the cells in the pancreas that make insulin.
