Mark Ganz, president and CEO of Cambia Health Solutions, has been honored with a 2013 Governors' Gold Award for his lifetime contributions to the state of Oregon in the areas of health care, economic development and leadership through community service. Presented by Oregon's living governors, Governors' Gold Awards are received annually by a select number of esteemed businesses and individuals who have delivered significant contributions to the state during their lifetimes.

In presenting Ganz with the award, former Governor Ted Kulongoski remarked, "Mark Ganz is a national leader within the health care industry. He has given so much to this state. He doesn't seek a high profile. His belief in service, community and families is more about his contribution to making life better for all of us."

Ganz's passion for transforming the way people experience health care is the cornerstone of his vision for Cambia. Since taking the top post in 2003, he has guided the company's leadership and long-range strategic planning efforts along a path of re-imagining and reshaping the health care system.
"I'm honored to accept this award and proud to lead a nonprofit family of 22 companies, under the Cambia name, that is devoted to making health care more person-focused and economically sustainable," said Ganz. "I accept this honor on behalf of our employees and in tribute to my late father, a visionary family physician, who showed me from a very young age how powerful health care can be when it is responsive and accountable to the patients it serves."
Ganz's professional and community service includes positions as a member of the board of directors of Portland General Electric Company (NYSE: POR); University of Portland Board of Regents (Vice Chair), Greater Portland Inc. (Co-Founder and past Chair); TriZetto, GNS Healthcare; Oregon Business Council (executive committee member); Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association; America's Health Insurance Plans; Boy Scouts of America-Cascade Pacific Council; The Conversation Project; The Dougy Center (Capital Campaign Leadership Cabinet); and Jesuit High School.

The Governors' Gold Awards are presented annually by Oregon's four living governors, Governor John Kitzhaber, Governor Ted Kulongoski, Governor Barbara Roberts and Governor Vic Atiyeh. The Governors' Gold Awards ceremony benefits Special Olympics Oregon, serving Special Olympics athletes statewide since 1972.
