The March of Dimes is a national voluntary health agency whose mission isto improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birthand infant mortality. Founded in 1938, the March of Dimes funds programs ofresearch, community services, education, and advocacy to save babies and in2003 launched a five-year campaign to address the increasing rate of prematurebirth. What: March of Dimes "Advocacy Day." March of Dimes volunteers and supporters will interact with state legislators on issues of importance to the organization including access to health care, government support of programs that promote healthy pregnancies, and matters of importance to nonprofit organizations. There will be a March of Dimes display in the Great Hall at the Statehouse and informal meetings between the organization's volunteers and state legislators.
