LOS ANGELES, Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Manduka, the world's leader in designing eco-conscious yoga gear, announced today the launch of the co-branded eKO LiteTM for Off the Mat, Into the World(R). Renowned for durability and grip, the eKO LiteTM yoga mat is also biodegradable and completely non-toxic. Promoting their commitment to the community and the planet, Manduka will donate proceeds from the sale of the specialty branded mat to Off the Mat, Into the World(R) (OTM), an organization dedicated to inspiring yoga practitioners to transfer the insight, self-knowledge and inspiration received through their practice into the lives of others.

The eKO Lite, a lightweight "green" yoga mat, is composed of natural rubber and was developed by eco-conscious yoga teachers looking for a travel-friendly mat that combines performance and durability. Made from non-Amazon harvested tree rubber, the mat decomposes completely at the end of its useful life and is free of toxic foaming agents and plasticizers commonly found in other eco-branded yoga products. The product line also includes the standard eKO Mat, a thicker, full-size version of the eKO Lite ideal for those that need enhanced cushioning. As demonstrated by superior design and performance, Manduka promotes quality and sustainability in all of their products.

"Manduka is committed to giving back to the planet by partnering with organizations that foster a sense of service and support for the community and the environment," said Sky Meltzer, CEO, of Manduka. "By creating the eKO Lite for Off the Mat, Into the World, we are excited to support the important work that OTM is inspiring on a local and global level."

Through an educational and experiential process, the OTM programs combine yoga and self-exploration practices that help people refine and clarify what their purpose is. The other part of the OTM process is about collaboration and creating effective and sustainable projects that help others. Participants in OTM help give back to the global community by fighting social issues like child poverty. Founded by renowned yoga teachers Seane Corn and Hala Khouri, M.A., and vocalist and composer Suzanne Sterling, each year OTM challenges participants to raise or donate money for a particular cause. This year the funds raised will go toward the Cambodian Children's Fund, a non-profit organization that houses and feeds Cambodian children in need, in addition to providing medical treatment and a comprehensive education program.

"We are thrilled to be partnering with Manduka on this mat. Their mission and work ethic is exactly in alignment with ours: Yoga is about awareness on all levels and it starts with your yoga mat, literally in this instance!" -- Off the Mat founders.
