NEW YORK, Feb. 2 MPR - the most widely used drug reference by clinicians - is now available as a free App for the iPhone and iPod touch. The MPR drug database is also available for free for BlackBerry, Palm, and Microsoft Mobile devices, as well as desktop and laptop computers running Microsoft XP and Microsoft Vista (www.empr.com/download).

The MPR delivers:

For 25 years, medical professionals in the US have relied on the print editions of MPR to deliver up-to-date, concise drug information at the point-of-care. Now the exact same drug information is available on the iPhone and iPod touch. The pharmacist-editors at MPR are dedicated to bringing the highest quality drug information to all clinicians, with the most powerful and flexible clinical decision support tools available.

"The MPR drug information was previously available for all Microsoft platforms, Blackberry and Palm," said Jim Pantaleo, Vice President and Publisher of the MPR product line. "However, many clinicians now own iPhones, so we needed to make the MPR drug information available to them as well. Our goal is to make the MPR available to all clinicians, independent of the phone or mobile device they choose."

This technology is available through the partnership of MPR with US Biomedical Information Systems, Inc. (USBMIS), a software solutions company that specializes in developing interactive, mobile applications for the healthcare industry. "USBMIS is very excited about implementing the reputable content of MPR with our versatile mobile software publishing technology. We hope that this partnership will bring a new dimension to medical point-of-care tools," said Dr. Darwin Ang, CEO of USBMIS.

To download MPR, healthcare professionals should visit the MPR website or the iTunes store.

MPR and USBMIS are also developing CME/CE courses and educational videos, which will be available in the second quarter of 2010.
