Food Fare began in 1979 with a cooking demonstration by Julia Child toraise funds for Planned Parenthood Los Angeles (PPLA). Today, the eventfeatures more than 150 of Los Angeles' best restaurants, caterers, wineries,florists, and entertainers, and draws thousands of Los Angeles residents withan appetite for great food, great drink, and a great cause. Highly acclaimedrestaurants such as Josie, A.O.C. and Lucques make the scene this year,alongside L.A. classic and Food Fare regular Pink's Hot Dogs.
Food Fare also features a Silent Auction, including fabulous vacationpackages, entertainment and sporting event tickets, gift certificates, artsand crafts and more.
PPLA is the largest private provider of reproductive health care in LosAngeles County, reaching 93,000 women, men and teens each year with medicalcare. Our education programs provide medically sound sex education in schools,homes, and community centers. Through our sister organization, the PlannedParenthood Los Angeles County Advocacy Project, the agency is also a leadingadvocate for reproductive rights.
