7-Year-Old Family-Owned Franchise Selected from Over 150 Candidates

OMAHA, Neb., June 22 /PRNewswire/ -- THE MAIDS of Kansas City was recently recognized as the Franchise of the Year by THE MAIDS International corporate office during the company's recent national convention in Omaha, Neb. The seven-year-old Kansas City location owned by Gary and Sue Hanson and their son John is among the youngest in the franchise company's history to receive the coveted award. Over 150 franchises vie for the top honor, which is based on accomplishments including revenue growth, profit, quality of service, professional image, the working environment and workforce morale.

The Hansons received the award for what they do – provide superior attention to detail, ridding homes in the Kansas City metropolitan area of dust and allergens, which in turn provides asthma and allergy sufferers noticeable relief. However, it's who the Hansons are that made them stand out among this year's field. Their unique dedication to providing unparalleled customer satisfaction as well as a supportive workplace is the impetus behind the family-owned office's achievements.

This emphasis on customer service – including a daily morning team meeting where team members renew their commitment to do a good job - has earned the office a 96% customer referral rate according to customer submitted survey results. This is the highest in THE MAIDS' nationwide network. That high rating was one of a series of factors driving the Franchise of the Year honor, which recognizes the combined efforts of the owners, managers and team members in achieving operational excellence.

"It is such an honor to be recognized among our peers for our success, which is a direct result of the outstanding teamwork and dedication to quality that we see every day from everyone on our staff," said John Hanson. "Since opening, we've been committed to providing the highest-quality service and exceptional attention to customer satisfaction, and we remain uncompromising in that mission today."

"It's never an easy task to select these award recipients, but in this case, the Hansons' operation stood out from the rest in terms of both customer and employee satisfaction," said Dan Bishop, founder, president and CEO of THE MAIDS International. "As we often find to be the case, when the employees are motivated, engaged and satisfied, this translates directly into better customer satisfaction, and the Hansons' franchise has demonstrated that exceptionally well."

The Hanson franchise has previously been recognized as THE MAIDS' Start-up Franchise of the Year. They have also received the company's President's Club and Crystal Vacuum Awards for outstanding achievement.
