3,000 Volunteers Will Serve Across 7 New Jersey Locations on December 3rd To Meet Ambitious Meal-Packing Goal

MORRISTOWN, N.J., Nov. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- In an effort to serve its neighbors-in-need at Christmas, Liquid Church, one of New Jersey's fastest growing Christian churches, has announced it will host the largest Christmas Outreach in church history.

On December 3rd, 3,000 volunteers will gather across 7 locations to pack 500,000 meals to be distributed to families in need this holiday season. Designed as a family event, children and parents will be serving side-by-side at the Christmas Outreach, working in an "assembly line fashion" in order to pack thousands of meals in short order.

"We feel called to put our faith into action and demonstrate Jesus Christ's compassion to the hungry and hurting," said Tim Lucas, lead pastor and founder of Liquid Church. "Hunger is a pervasive problem and more than 1 million New Jersey residents don't know where their next meal is coming from. That's 1 in 9 of us, which means this is a struggle faced by our friends and neighbors. This hits home, and that fueled us to set such an ambitious goal for our 2016 Christmas Outreach."

Liquid Church's provision of 500,000 meals will more than double the meal-packing achievement from last year, when 240,000 meals were packed in one day.

"No one should have to choose between keeping the lights on or putting food on the table, or life-saving medicine and their next meal, but this is the heartbreaking reality for too many people in New Jersey," added Lucas. "It's our goal to address those needs in a practical way and with a compassionate heart."

Liquid Church's 7 Christmas Outreach locations include Nutley in Essex County, Jersey City in Hudson County, Parsippany in Morris County, Somerville in Somerset County, and Garwood and Mountainside in Union County.

Additional volunteers are welcome to serve at the Christmas Outreach and attendance at Liquid Church is not required. Details and volunteer registration forms may be found online at www.LiquidChurch.com/ChristmasOutreach.
