ABOUT EAGLE SCOUT PROJECTS

The Eagle Scout project main goals are to provide scouts with leadership opportunity and to serve the community. They must plan, develop and give leadership to others. They must be able to demonstrate their leadership ability outside of scouting through a worthwhile project for the community, church or school. The project must be pre-approved by the Scoutmaster or project coach, troop committee and District Advancement Committee.

Travis Bertoli, Boy Scout Troop 103, Lino Lakes, Minn., will complete his Eagle Scout project by delivering and assembling WHO: sensory garden items for Courage Center Burnsville. WHEN: Saturday, June 26, 2010, starting at 9 a.m. Travis, his father and volunteers will deliver and assemble four components of the first phase of a sensory garden for Courage Center Burnsville. The sensory garden will be used in therapy for children with autism and other sensory processing WHAT: challenges. Travis solicited help to defray the cost of the project. Other partners include: Home Depot, Blaine; Bachman's, Maplewood and Burnsville; Goodrich Engineering, Burnsville; the Lino Lakes Lion's Club; and Jimmy Johns, Burnsville. He also received information and design help from Playmore Design Corporation, the Minnesota Arboretum, Bachman's and Home Depot!
