Leaders in Pathology Meet in Chicago: Sept. 30 - Oct. 3, 2007

Expert Pathologists Discuss the Latest Developments in Cancer Diagnosis and Emerging Technologies Affecting Laboratory Medicine



NORTHFIELD, Ill., Sept. 26 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --- The latest on testing and diagnosing cancer, including breast and cervical cancer, as well as new information on the rapidly-evolving areas of pathology informatics and transfusion medicine will be the focus of the College of American Pathologists' annual meeting, CAP '07 -- The Pathologists' Meeting. The meeting will be held on Sept. 30 - Oct. 3, 2007, at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers.

Expert pathologists from around the globe will lead education seminars that provide practical tools, which can be incorporated immediately into pathology practices. Hot topics include testing for the human papillomavirus (HPV), the leading cause of cervical cancer, and the impact that the HPV vaccine will have on the incidence of cervical cancer, as well as discussions about targeted therapies for many different types cancers, including lung. Seminars also will be offered in practice management and informatics, including whole slide digital imaging and how this new technology will affect clinical pathology.
