Laser Spine Institute Honored at the Gridiron Greats Night of Champions
TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 9 In conjunction with the 2010 Super Bowl, on Feb. 5th Laser Spine Institute (LSI) sponsored the first-annual Gridiron Greats Night of Champions, a charitable event for the Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund hosted by Mike Ditka and Jamie Foxx. Supported by more than 150 retired NFL players and coaches, Gridiron Greats is a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance and social services to retired NFL players in crisis.
This year, Gridiron Greats recognized LSI at the event as Medical Partner of the Year. LSI's medical director Dr. Michael Perry and CEO Bill Horne accepted the award. As one of the largest medical donors to Gridiron Greats, LSI provides minimally invasive, laser-assisted spine surgeries to qualifying former players who suffer from chronic back and neck pain. Many of these former players lack the disability coverage, pension benefits or financial means to afford individualized care. But with LSI's generous donations, these gridiron greats now have the opportunity to live without chronic pain.
LSI is extremely devoted to serving many types of athletes with chronic back and neck pain and is thrilled to bring today's most innovative technology and procedures to NFL's greatest legacy - its former players. The team of renowned LSI surgeons treats a variety of spinal conditions with an incision measuring less than one inch, which drastically reduces recovery time.
Gridiron Greats recipient and retired Minnesota Vikings player Jim Marshall says of his LSI procedure, "Thanks for helping change my life. I feel better than I have the past 20 years."
Retired players can contact Gridiron Greats at 1-800-708-1078 or visit www.gridirongreats.org to see if they qualify for the pro bono medical program.
