Lake Hospital Foundation Receives $1 Million Gift From Richard M. Osborne

PAINESVILLE, Ohio, Nov. 15 The Lake Hospital Foundationtoday announced that it has received a $1 million cash donation from theprominent Lake County businessman Richard M. Osborne family. The donation,which is the single largest gift ever received by the Foundation, will supportconstruction of TriPoint Medical Center, a new state-of-the-art digitalhospital in Concord Township set to open in 2009.

"My family and I are delighted to support TriPoint Medical Center and LakeHospital System. We believe the new hospital will be a vital asset toNortheast Ohio and serve generations of families in Lake County and beyond,"said Richard M. Osborne.

The lobby of TriPoint Medical Center will be named in honor of Mr.Osborne's mother, Georgeanne S. Osborne, his late son, Tommy Osborne, andpossibly other members of the family.

"The building of TriPoint Medical Center provides a great opportunity fora lasting legacy," Osborne said.

Sunny Masters, executive director of the Lake Hospital Foundation,expressed the Foundation's gratitude for this important gift.

"The Osborne name is synonymous with this community's spirit of leadershipand goodwill," said Masters. "We're extremely grateful for the family'sgenerous gift, which will have a significant impact on our capital campaignfor TriPoint Medical Center."

In addition to the $1 million gift, the Osborne family is also making twoother monetary gifts that will support operations once the new hospital opens.

"The Lake Hospital System Board of Trustees and I are very appreciative ofthe Osborne family's generosity. It's through the support of donors like theOsbornes that Lake Hospital System can continue to deliver the highest qualitycare to the communities we serve," said Cynthia Moore-Hardy, president and CEOof Lake Hospital System.

Construction is progressing on schedule for the four-story,300,000-square-foot hospital that will introduce a new approach to communityhealth care that revolves entirely around the patient. The $150 millionmedical facility will feature the latest medical technology and privatepatient rooms overlooking a natural setting, all designed to help heal livesfaster.

The Lake Hospital Foundation is continuing to raise funds through its"Building For The Future" capital campaign. To date, more than $6.1 millionhas been pledged toward a $10 million goal.

"The hard work of campaign volunteers and the generosity of contributorshave made early success possible. The community has clearly been veryreceptive to conversations about gift support. As we continue to talk witharea individuals and business owners, we look forward to reaching andsurpassing our goal," said Carol Nelson-Rollins and Don Brinberg, M.D.,co-chairs of the Building for the Future capital campaign.
