LINCOLN, Neb., Oct. 31 LI-COR Biosciences now offers the LI-COR Blot Washer for automating the tedious process of blot washing and secondary antibody addition for Western blots. Providing consistent, reproducible incubation and wash cycles for one or multiple blots, the LI-COR Blot Washer is an easy to use liquid delivery and aspiration instrument featuring user-defined, preset wash cycles. Up to 20 presets can be stored in the Blot Washer memory with 1 to 4 individually configurable steps per cycle allowing users to accomplish any typical blot washing task automatically.
The LI-COR Blot Washer improves reproducibility and productivity by increasing throughput and eliminating interruptions in workflows. Up to 4 blots can be simultaneously processed with the included quad harness. User defined parameters control volume of wash or other reagent dispensed, number and duration of washes, and aspiration of reagent waste.
An auxiliary dispense valve on the LI-COR Blot Washer ads flexibility to protocols. For example automated delivery of a secondary antibody or second wash buffer can be established as part of a pre-established wash cycle. The system includes a 140 ml syringe to dispense a secondary antibody and the auxiliary dispense valve can be set up to deliver a second wash buffer.
