Kremer Eye Center to Provide Essential Medical Eye Care for People in Belize

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., May 17, 2011 A team from Kremer Eye Center is traveling to Belize City, Belize to provide essential eye care June 18-25, 2011. Fifty patients will receive complimentary cataract surgery.

Led by surgeon George Pronesti, M.D., anesthesiologist Don Sivick, M.D., surgical technician Carol Szweda, Brydie Calkin, RN and Carol Hughes, RN, the team arranged all necessary medical supplies and is volunteering for The Belize Council for the Visually Impaired.

Dr. Pronesti of Kremer Eye Center said, "Right now, cataracts are the leading cause of blindness in Belize. Our staff is honored to work with the BCVI to help prevent unnecessary visual impairment and blindness. It is really exciting to see the happiness a week of our time can bring to people's lives."

Kremer Eye Center and Affiliate Optometrist Offices are collecting eyeglass donations for patients in need in Belize. Please donate new and gently used eyeglasses at Kremer Surgical Centers in King of Prussia, PA; Cherry Hill, NJ; and Wilmington, DE.
