IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 5 With 17 successful episodes undertheir belt, the controversial break-out web series, Midwest Teen Sex Show(MTSS), has landed its first major sponsor with KoldCast TV. The series,which has been airing on-demand on several video web sites and on KoldCast TVsince its Beta launch in March, will now air exclusively on the KoldCast TVNetwork beginning today through December. Beyond KoldCast, only the MTSS website will distribute these five KoldCast TV-sponsored episodes.
Since the launch of Midwest Teen Sex Show, the Show and its threeproducers, Nikol Hasler, Britney Barber and Guy Clark, have been consistentlyfeatured on Network broadcasts such as CNN, ABC's Nightline, CBS's The EarlyShow, the CBS Evening New with Katie Couric and Fox's The Morning Show withMike and Juliet. The Wall Street Journal, the AP and many other mediaoutlets, including many popular online Blogs, such as NewTeeVee, have alsoweighed-in on the Show.
Despite the Show's title and logline, "A video show about teen sexuality,"the Show does not offer any nudity or sex of any kind. In fact, the Show,which is frequently characterized as funny and entertaining, is largelyinformational in nature, and is now viewed by an average of 300,000 viewersper episode. "Of these viewers, nearly 60% aren't teens at all; says producerHasler, many, in fact, are eager parents who point their teen children to theShow to learn the realities of sex in today's world -- it's simply not thateasy for many parents to talk with their kids about hard hitting topics likeoral sex and body parts. Given the topics discussed on Midwest Teen Sex Show, paid advertisingsponsorships can be a real challenge.
