MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis., May 1 Kohl's Corporation (NYSE: KSS) today gathered more than 1,100 associates, family and friends together at the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk held in downtown Milwaukee. Associates from both the Menomonee Falls corporate headquarters and local Wisconsin and Illinois department stores laced up as part of Kohl's three-year philanthropic partnership with the American Cancer Society. In addition to walking, Kohl's associates and other participants formed a human pink ribbon to show their support for the fight against breast cancer.

In addition to being presenting sponsor of the event, Kohl's also will donate more than $7 million over the next three years to create and support breast cancer programs in the state of Wisconsin. Nearly $5 million of this donation will go to the American Cancer Society to create programs designed to help women of Wisconsin fight this invasive disease.

"We are extremely honored to be here today in partnership with the American Cancer Society to support the fight against breast cancer," said Julie Gardner, Kohl's executive vice president and chief marketing officer. "As a company, Kohl's is passionate and committed to this important cause and proud to see our associates come together to help make a difference in the lives of women."

In 2009, almost 3,500 Wisconsin women were predicted to be diagnosed with breast cancer. Approximately 40 percent of breast cancer incidents in Wisconsin are in the Milwaukee area. For this reason, Kohl's, a Wisconsin-based company, has focused initial efforts here in its hometown community.

The donation, which will be used to support research, education and patient-assistance programs, represents the largest corporate gift ever made to the American Cancer Society's Midwest division, which includes Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
