NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J., July 10 Johnson & Johnsontoday announced the commitment by its pharmaceutical companies to adopt therevised Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) Code onInteractions with Healthcare Professionals. PhRMA introduced its new Codeearlier today.

Maintaining ethical relationships with health care professionals is anessential aspect of providing physicians with the valuable informationregarding the appropriate use of medicines needed to help provide the bestpossible care for patients. Acceptance of the revised PhRMA Code is consistentwith Johnson & Johnson's ongoing commitment to ensure the integrity of ourrelationships between representatives and doctors, as well as to protectmedical judgment and treatment choices from inappropriate influence.

The revised Code will supplement and enhance measures adopted by Johnson &Johnson and its pharmaceutical operating companies in 2002 when the firstPhRMA Code was introduced. Operating companies within our PharmaceuticalsGroup will implement the new guidance by January 2009.

Johnson & Johnson and its involved operating companies base theirguidelines for responsible interactions with doctors on industry codes ofconduct as well as the legal, regulatory and professional requirements of thecountries where we conduct business.
