PASADENA, Calif., Sept. 11 Jacobs EngineeringGroup Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it received a contract from theBORDET Institute to provide owner-engineer support for a new 220-bed, 53,000square meter hospital in Brussels, Belgium. BORDET Institute is aworld-renowned institute for cancer identification and treatment.
Officials did not disclose the contract value; however, they noted thatthe total investment cost for the new hospital is over Euro 140 million.
Jacobs already completed a conceptual study for the project. Under the newcontract, it will provide programming and advice for technical and functionalproject definition; support contractor selection; change managementassistance; and will ensure that hospital functions remain stable duringconstruction. Jacobs will continue to manage the project from its healthcareCenter of Excellence in Paris, France.
In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Andy Kremer said,"This award reflects the BORDET Institute's confidence in our high-valueservices, which we first delivered to them several years ago on programmingstudies.
