WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., May 10 Dr. Richard Millard has been named the senior director of the healthcare practice at J.D. Power and Associates.

Dr. Millard will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the healthcare practice, conducting studies on customer satisfaction across healthcare suppliers, manufacturers and providers, including health insurance plans, hospitals and retail pharmacies. The healthcare practice is part of the company's global services and emerging industries division and evaluates the experiences of diverse stakeholder groups, ranging from patients to financial sponsors and employers.

"Rick brings extensive experience in healthcare-focused market research," said Gary Tucker, senior vice president of the global services and emerging industries division. "Particularly in the rapidly changing current healthcare environment, Rick's experience will be crucial as he and his team deliver insights and solutions that our clients expect from J.D. Power's voice of the customer marketing information and tools."
Prior to joining J.D. Power and Associates, Dr. Millard was group president for the healthcare research group at Harris Interactive, where he also organized global research initiatives across industry sectors. He has a combined background in commercial and academic settings, and previously held faculty positions at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.
Dr. Millard earned a master's degree and a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Hawaii, completed postdoctoral work in Behavioral Medicine at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and earned an MBA from the Simon Graduate School of Business--University of Rochester.
