Interventional Pain Management Experts Available to Discuss Prescription Drug Abuse

Recent prescription medication reports regarding Michael Jackson and the FDA's recommendation to ban Vicodin and Percocet show that prescription drug abuse is reaching epidemic proportions. Interventional Pain Management Physicians from the American Society of Interventional Pain Management (ASIPP) are experts in the field and are available in every state to comment on the latest news and why there is so much abuse in this field - including doctor shopping, wrong usage and improperly trained physicians.

ASIPP has been successfully lobbying for nationwide prescription drug monitoring (there are 39 out of 50 states monitoring or planning to monitor as a result). In 2005, ASIPP helped pass the National All Schedules Prescription Electronic Reporting (NASPER) Act to coordinate nationwide monitoring of prescription drugs including sharing of information across state lines.
