Insulet Announces Sponsorship of International Diabetes Federation's World Diabetes Day Campaign

BEDFORD, Mass., Nov. 3 Insulet Corporation,(Nasdaq: PODD), the global leader in patch pump technology, and theInternational Diabetes Federation (IDF) today announced that Insulet is anofficial partner of IDF's World Diabetes Day (WDD) campaign. World DiabetesDay, celebrated on November 14, will raise awareness of children andadolescents with diabetes, spotlighting both the impact of the disease andaccess to care.

The campaign also emphasizes that, with the right treatment, children andadolescents can live full, healthy and productive lives. To ensure this, it'svital that parents know the early warning signs of diabetes and if their childshows these signs, to seek immediate medical attention. These signs include:

All WDD partners share the goal of increasingdiabetes awareness, care and priority in the world health arena.

In addition to partnering in the WDD campaign, Insulet is focused onraising awareness of diabetes during November, National Diabetes AwarenessMonth, through a series of local market efforts in cities throughout theUnited States.

About Type 1 Diabetes

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease characterized by the destructionof more than 90% of the body's insulin-producing cells. It can neither beprevented nor cured. Globally, it is the most common form of diabetes inchildren, affecting around 500,000 children under 15, with 70,000 new casesdiagnosed each year. Prevalence is increasing most quickly among pre-schoolchildren, at a rate of 5% per year.
