Innovation That Improves Customer Service Earns Aflac InfoWorld 100 Award
COLUMBUS, Ga, Dec. 3 Aflac today announced that the company has been recognized by IDG's InfoWorld with its InfoWorld 100 Award. Aflac was selected for its development of a new innovative application called Client Central 2.0. The application is a graphical interface that integrates information from several systems, allowing Aflac's customer service representatives to view information from multiple sources and provide efficient answers to policyholders' questions.
Every year, the InfoWorld 100 Awards celebrate 100 IT organizations that have implemented and integrated technologies in innovative ways in pursuit of concrete business goals. The awards celebrate IT projects that use technology in smart, innovative, and creative ways to meet business and technical objectives. All nominations are reviewed by InfoWorld editors.
The Client Central 2.0, created by Aflac's Information Technology unit, enables a customer support representative to more easily find collected information about the policyholder; his or her policies with history, activity, and benefits on a single screen. Information about recent claims and status updates is also more readily available. As a result of organizing this important data with Client Central 2.0, Aflac customer service representatives have reduced the length of customer phone calls by 20 seconds, while creating more than $1.1 million dollars in savings for the company. Aflac customer service representatives are projected to handle approximately 7 million calls this year.
