"The cannabis sector needs a by-and-for the industry event like this as we move the industry past federal prohibition," said Rob Meagher, founder and editor-in-chief, CBE Press. "We look forward to bringing the leaders of our industry together to discuss the future of cannabis next January and expect this to be the first of many successful events."

The steering committee includes representatives from Medicine Man, O.penVAPE/Organa Brands, Wellness Connection of Maine, Wana Brands, Medically Correct, District Growers, FOCUS, Pure Green, Curio Wellness and Waters Corporation. The program committee is comprised of dozens of experts, including physicians, researchers, executives, investors and more (view the full list here). CBE Press formed a new entity with experienced conference management professionals and investors to establish CBEC.

Programming at CBEC 2018 will include three days of executive forums, keynote addresses, detailed panel sessions, emerging company presentations and extensive business development and networking opportunities, in addition to a 200+ booth exhibit hall.

"Our steering committee represents the best in the business, and the event will be a reflection of our collective desire to come together as an industry to work towards common goals," said Andy Williams, CEO of Medicine Man. "Whether contributing to the dialogue, exhibiting, or attending to network and learn, I would consider this a must-attend event for any business operating in the cannabis industry, and I would encourage thought leaders in our space to submit panel sessions to present at the convention."

Panel submissions, due on April 28, 2017, are now open on the CBEC website. Panel tracks include science, technology and innovation; policy and legal; industry standardization; operations; international; business development; and best practices.

Registration for CBEC 2018 is expected to open in August. Prospective sponsors and exhibitors can learn more and secure their space now by reaching out to [email protected].
