Independent Pharmacies Are IIAS Compliant With ECRS Catapult 5.0

ORLANDO, Fla., Dec. 8 ECR Software Corporation (ECRS) iscontinuing the successful roll-out of their IIAS-ready, POS software Catapult5.0. This software release enables retailers to meet all regulationsrestricting health benefit card acceptance in accordance with approaching IRSdeadlines in 2009. Catapult 5.0 is the most recent addition to ECRS point-of-sale and inventory solutions that have been serving retailers in a variety ofmarkets, including independent pharmacy, for almost 20 years.

East Burke and Burke Pharmacies, both located in western North Carolina,have been successfully operating with Catapult 5.0 since October 2008. Bothretail pharmacies have also completed all required SIGIS documents to completethe IIAS certification process.

"This is the strongest version of Catapult to date," said East BurkeManager, David Hoyle. "We upgraded in October with no issues and the softwarehas continued to prove extremely stable, with exceptional speed, increasedperformance, user friendly interfaces and features allowing us to accepthealth benefit cards, effortlessly, according to IRS IIAS guidelines."

"With assistance from ECRS the entire process, including completion ofSIGIS documents, has been about as simple as possible. I pretty much had tojust sign and date the documents. On a scale from 1-10, the ease of thisprocess has been a ten," continued Hoyle.

In addition to successful upgrades at East Burke and Burke Pharmacies,ECRS has completed multiple Catapult 5.0 upgrades to date, including a 11-store pharmacy chain located in North Carolina and Tennessee. All stores arerunning with 100% functionality after upgrade completion.

ECRS is also working with various credit card processors to providechoices for customers and to avoid locking retailers into having to choose onespecific card processing company in order to accept health benefit cards.
