"We are disappointed that Tehama County will not have the opportunity toestablish itself as a leader in bringing an environmentally sound solution tothe disposal of medical waste," said Jeff Surma, President and Chief ExecutiveOfficer of InEnTec LLC. "When our company started this project over threeyears ago, our focus was on developing smaller scale systems geared towardniche waste streams such as medical waste. Since that time we have evolved ourtechnology to a scale that now makes economic sense for all waste streams, including municipal solid waste, or everyday trash. It is our firm belief andour hope that someday all communities, including Tehama County, will usetechnologies such as ours to reuse these waste materials to produce otherproducts such as ethanol or methanol, which would be more environmentallyresponsible than stockpiling our garbage in landfills," Surma said. "We'd liketo thank the Tehama County Planning Commission and the staff of the TehamaCounty Air Pollution Control District for their professionalism and courtesythroughout the process, and we look forward to the possibility of doingbusiness in Tehama County in the future."
