Boo Bash Halloween Fun for Young Children in a Safe Environment
What:
Institute for Child & Family Health (ICFH) will host Boo Bash, a Halloween event for young children. Proceeds will benefit the All-Aboard Early Literacy Intervention Program for children ages 0-7. The event will feature kid-friendly activities such as a bounce house, candy station, storytelling, face painting, arts & crafts, fun Halloween games, costume contest and parade.

Why:
Halloween can be scary for small children especially with costumes of monsters, witches & devils roaming the streets at night. This venue provides an alternative way to have fun besides the usual door-to-door trick-or-treating at strangers' homes. ICFH wants to provide a safe environment for children to enjoy Halloween while informing the parents about the importance of literacy.

The purpose of the All-Aboard Family Literacy Intervention program is to help break the cycle of poverty and illiteracy by improving the educational opportunities of low-income families through the integration of components into a unified family literacy program for parents and children, primarily from birth through age 7.

The Institute Child & Family Health with the help of University of Miami, William R. Butler Center volunteers will work to raise awareness, fundraise, and provide some fun for young children to enjoy Halloween in a safe environment.
