STANFORD, Calif., Aug. 19 Stanford Hospital & Clinics andLucile Packard Children's Hospital today announced thathttp://www.stanfordpackardfacts.com, an online resource regarding laborrepresentation, is now available in Spanish.

"The interest in the English version of this Web site has beentremendous," said Lori Curry, vice president of human resources for StanfordHospital & Clinics. "To make a Spanish version available to our employees justmade sense."

On Sept. 10 and Sept. 11, Hospital employees formerly represented by SEIULocal 715 will vote to select new union representation or to remainindependent.

"With over 100 unique visitors to the Web site daily, clearly ouremployees are looking for information so that they can make an educated vote,"said Greg Souza, vice president of human resource for Lucile PackardChildren's Hospital. "We hope that through this site they will find the factsneeded regarding this important issue."

SEIU Local 715 had been representing approximately 1,450 housekeepers, food service workers, nursing assistants, phlebotomists, unit secretaries, transporters and employees in non-technical and non-professional titles at thehospitals. Because the International Union directed the leadership of Local715 to transfer employee representation to United Healthcare Workers withoutthe employees' consent, the Hospitals were left with no option but to withdrawrecognition of Local 715 effective July 28, 2008.Media Contacts: Todd Kleinheinz Lucile Packard Children's Hospital tkleinheinz@lpch.org (650) 725-9666 Sarah Staley Lucile Packard Children's Hospital sstaley@lpch.org (650) 724-4506
