Healthcare workers at CMC seek to form a union in order to better advocate for improved patient care at their hospital. Caregivers feel they can achieve better care for patients by joining a union with SEIU United Healthcare Workers-West. Through the union, workers will be able to partner with hospital management and have a voice on the job, in addition to seeking fair wages and benefits to help maintain a skilled workforce.

"We need a voice in making the right decisions for patients in our facilities," said Helen Villa, a Licensed Vocational Nurse in the Emergency Room at Community Regional Medical Center. "We're ready to work in partnership with management as advocates for patient care and quality jobs."

MEDIA AVAILABILITY:

Helen Villa is available upon request from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday, March 10. Please call Kevin Hall at (559) 244-1842 to schedule an interview.
