LAKE FOREST, Ill., Nov. 10 Hospira, Inc.(NYSE: HSP), a global specialty pharmaceutical and medication deliverycompany, announced today that Ken Meyers has been named senior vice president,Organizational Transformation and People Development. In this capacity, hewill lead the global human resources function with a focus on advancingHospira's high-performance culture and organizational excellence. Meyerssucceeds Henry Weishaar, who is retiring Dec. 31, 2008, and will reportdirectly to Christopher Begley, chairman and chief executive officer.

Most recently, Meyers, 46, was a partner at Oliver Wyman, an internationalmanagement consulting firm. A specialist in leadership development, Meyers hasextensive experience working with senior teams in facilitating theiracceleration to high performance, and has served as a principal consultant andcoach to senior executives at well-known companies such as Amgen, L'Oreal,Nike, Novartis, Time Warner, Sara Lee and Unilever.
Prior to joining Oliver Wyman, Meyers was senior vice president, HumanResources, Starbucks Coffee International, leading human resources strategyand direction as Starbucks expanded internationally through company-owned,licensed and joint-venture operations. Throughout his more than 20-year careerin global human resources and senior-line management, he also held variousleadership positions with Disney, Gymboree and United Technologies.
Meyers earned his bachelor's degree in International Business and HumanResources Management from the Wharton School of the University ofPennsylvania, and his master's of business administration from the HarvardBusiness School.
