Homecare Workers Take on Yuba County Over Health Plan

MARYSVILLE, Calif., Oct. 8 Homecare workers will announceat a press conference on Wednesday the filing of a formal complaint againstYuba County for refusing to implement portions of the caregivers' health plan,in violation of the contract that both sides agreed to three months ago.

County officials maintain that they cannot provide the "umbrella" benefitto caregivers employed by Yuba's In-Home Supportive Services, despite the factthat numerous other counties have implemented identical programs. Yuba Countyspecifically agreed to this benefit when negotiating and ratifying thecontract earlier this year.
