CAMP HILL, Pa., Dec. 7 Highmark Inc. recently awarded $7,000 in grants to 14 nonprofit organizations in which Highmark employees volunteer. Through Highmark's Employee Volunteer Grant program, employees applied for $500 grants to benefit the agencies they hold close to their hearts and support through volunteerism. The Highmark Employee Volunteer Grant program reinforces the company's appreciation for employees who volunteer their time and services to help the very organizations that deliver their missions in the communities we all call home.

Throughout this past year, these 14 organizations received more than 2,000 hours worth of volunteer time from the Highmark employees. Highmark recognizes the impact these organizations have in our community in addition to the powerful influence the employees have on the organization. With the employees' acute knowledge of the agencies' needs, the grant dollars can be utilized in the most effective and appropriate way.
