LOS ANGELES, Jan. 16 In response to the devastating earthquake that hit Haiti on Tuesday, 4 Survival To Go, an emergency preparedness company based in Los Angeles, has joined forces with former NBA legend Alonzo Mourning to help provide aid to the impoverished nation via the newly formed Athlete Relief Fund for Haiti. Until the end of February, 4 Survival To Go will donate 20% of online sales to the Athlete Relief Fund for Haiti which is raising money to be distributed to Project MediShare. The money raised will help to provide critical resources for this island nation which was hit by a 7.0 magnitude quake, along with several devastating aftershocks which leveled thousands of homes, buildings and hospitals in the capital city of Port-au-Prince. Still unknown are just how many people are still alive and trapped in the rubble.

"We are deeply saddened to hear about the tragedy in Haiti and feel compelled to help provide the much-needed resources to aid the Haitian community following this unprecedented disaster," said Shannon McGauley, co-founder and president of 4 Survival To Go. "We have worked with Alonzo Mourning Charities on other projects, so the decision to partner with him to raise desperately needed funds via the Athlete Relief Fund for Haiti was a 'no-brainer'," she continues.

In the U.S., federal and state agencies urge residents to prepare to sustain themselves for a period of 72 hours following a wide-spread emergency. During the first three days, these agencies are tasked with dealing with the most critical aspects that affect their ability to provide resources and save lives. For that reason, 4 Survival To Go developed the portable BOK, a compact 72 Hour (3-day) Emergency Survival Kit which contains over 100 OSHA and FEMA recommended survival essentials, packed in two water- resistant, pullout compartments in a bag the size of a lunch box.

"The tragedy in Haiti is a heartbreaking reminder of how suddenly a disaster can strike. While many of us hate to think about the possibility of something tragic happening to our family or ourselves, it is imperative that we are arm ourselves with the tools we need to survive a sudden emergency," said Shannon.
