She received the honor at the 2010 Benefits Selling Expo in Washington, D.C. on April 20, 2010.

De La Rosa began her career in insurance at the age of 19 as a clerk and has worked her way up the industry ladder. She was recruited to Heffernan in 1993 to start an employee benefits program. Today that division produces annual revenues of approximately $5 million, of which De La Rosa generates nearly $1 million. The core of De La Rosa's book of business is nonprofits, establishing health insurance programs for Goodwill Industries, Franciscan Friars and other charitable organizations.
