Hearing Loss Expo at Capitol Will Showcase Technology, Services

HARRISBURG - The Department of Labor & Industry's Hearing Loss Expo 2007will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28, in theCapitol's East Wing Rotunda. The event will highlight resources and servicesthat benefit deaf, deaf-blind and hard-of-hearing individuals and people withwhom they communicate.

Participants will be able to view high-tech videophones, get a freehearing screening, and learn how service dogs empower individuals with hearingloss. Various local, state and national organizations will offer interactivedemonstrations and information about financial assistance and resources thathelp to bridge communication gaps and promote the independence ofPennsylvanians with hearing loss.
