Healthcare Executive Richard Peitzmeier Returns to Phoenix as Regional Sales Director of SCAN Health Plan Arizona

PHOENIX, Sept. 8 SCAN Health Plan Arizona announced todaythat healthcare veteran Richard Peitzmeier has joined the company as regionalsales director. SCAN currently offers a health plan for Medicare andMedicaid-eligible individuals in the greater Phoenix area and also provideslong-term care services to individuals enrolled in the state's long-term caresystem in Maricopa County.

Peitzmeier most recently served as vice president at Baltimore-based BravoHealth, a multi-state Medicare Advantage and prescription drug health plan. Injoining SCAN, Peitzmeier returns to Maricopa County where he previously spentnine years at PacifiCare of Arizona in various leadership positions includingdirector of sales for the company's Secure Horizons Medicare Advantage Plan.He also served as corporate vice president of new business development atInspiris of Arizona (formerly Geriatrix), a healthcare management companyfocused on improving the quality of life for the frail elderly population.

"Richard's roots in the Phoenix area run deep, as does his understandingof the local Medicare market," said Thomas Lescault, president of SCAN'sArizona operations. "His knowledge of this community is very valuable inhelping assure that SCAN continues to meet the health care needs of ourcurrent and future members."

A graduate of Arizona State University, Peitzmeier has served with manylocally based organizations including the Phoenix Area Agency on Aging,Governor's Conference on Aging and the Arizona Town Hall. He also served aschairman of the board of directors of the Older Adult Service and InformationSystems (OASIS).

SCAN Health Plan Arizona offers a Medicare Special Needs Plan forbeneficiaries also enrolled in the Arizona Long Term Care System. SCAN LongTerm Care offers services to nearly 2,000 beneficiaries who are enrolled inthe ALTCS program in Maricopa County. Both are part of SCAN Health Plan, thefourth largest nonprofit Medicare Advantage Plan in the U.S. that for morethan 30 years has been focusing on the unique needs of people with Medicareand Medicaid.
