Healthcare Company Cymetrix(SM) Names New VP of Patient Access and Entitlement Solutions

IRVINE, Calif., Oct. 22 Cymetrix(SM), a leader inproviding hospitals and healthcare networks with revenue cycle managementsolutions, recently announced the appointment of Jim Zuran to the position ofvice president of Patient Access and Entitlement Solutions.

Zuran brings more than 15 years of industry experience to the company'sdevelopment of new solutions that focus on the start of the revenue cycle. Hisextensive knowledge of regulatory issues and strong background in the areas ofeligibility programs, financial services and revenue cycle operations,including patient access, discharge planning, case management and healthinformation management, will prove invaluable in the expansion of Cymetrix'sseamless approach to total revenue cycle management. He will play a key rolein the launch of Cymetrix's new Comprehensive Self Pay Solution on Nov. 1.

Zuran's diverse background includes working with a wide variety ofproviders, including LifeCare hospitals, Tenet Healthcare and other New YorkCity-based multi-hospital systems and medical centers. He has managerialexperience with both providers and government agencies.

Zuran will be based out of the company's Lewisville office in Texas, andreports to Al Franklin, senior vice president and chief operating officer.

"Jim brings many years of unique experience to the position," saidFranklin. "He is a rare hybrid with experience in the front-end as well as theback-end of the revenue cycle process, and with both provider and governmentalexperience."

Prior to joining Cymetrix(SM), Zuran was employed as the Director ofFinance for LifeCare Hospitals of Plano in Texas, and served as interimDirector of Finance for LifeCare Hospitals of Shreveport in Louisiana.

Zuran served on several subcommittees for the Greater New York HospitalAssociation (GNYHA). While in New York, he also helped create the ContinuumHealth Partners Financial Assistance (Charity Care) Program. He earned a BAfrom Brooklyn College, C.U.N.Y., Brooklyn, NY.

"In this ever increasing age of insurance denials and regulatory scrutiny,it is imperative we provide solutions that address front-end issues such asinsurance and identity verification, coordination of benefits, treatmentauthorization, eligibility and entitlement advocacy," said Zuran. "Thesesolutions will minimize potential denials and improve the clean claim droprate, which will result in lower accounts receivable days and quickerreimbursement for our clients."

As part of Cymetrix's focus on the front-end of the revenue cycle thecompany will offer a new Comprehensive Self Pay Solution. Zuran will share responsibility with Lori Zern, vice president ofPatient Financial Services, for the launch.
