Joseph, whose appointment is effective immediately, replaces Stephen L.Royal who is retiring.

The HCA East Florida Division is located in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. andencompasses 13 hospitals in the South Florida/Treasure Coast area.
Joseph has been with HCA since 1988, and most recently served as CEO ofUniversity Hospital in Tamarac, Fla. Prior to his move to Tamarac, he wasPresident of HCA's Southwest Florida Market in Fort Myers, Fla -- which hassince been divested. He also has served as President of Cedars Medical Centerin Miami and Westside Regional Medical Center, Plantation, Fla. Prior tothese roles he served as interim CEO at Columbia Hospital in West Palm Beach,Fla. and as COO at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center and at Miami HeartInstitute.
Joseph is a graduate of the University of Miami with an undergraduatedegree in business administration, as well as an MBA. He and his wife Leslihave two children, Lauryn and Michael and reside in the City of Coral Gables,Florida.
