For the last 20 years, ASCO has developed clinical guidelines to provide evidence-based recommendations and best practices for the clinical oncology community. As the portfolio of ASCO guidelines grows, and as updates become more frequent, the need for more practical and accessible guidelines at point of care has increased.

The collaboration between ASCO and Guideline Central aims to meet this demand.

Beginning in early 2017, Guideline Central will release "pocket guideline" versions for many of ASCO's clinical guidelines. The pocket guidelines will summarize ASCO's full text recommendations and key points in a brief, algorithmic format. To integrate into multiple workflows, hard copy, online and mobile forms will be offered. The goal of the collaboration is to save time for clinicians, while making implementation easier and more efficient.

The first pocket guidelines are now available, and cover topics such as Breast Cancer, Ovarian Cancer, Pancreatic Cancer and Cancer Pain. As new ASCO guidelines are published, the pocket guidelines will be updated to keep pace with the constantly evolving recommendations. The organizations aim to release the quick-reference versions simultaneously with the full text, and plan to publish 25 additional titles throughout the year.

The digital pocket guidelines will be freely available to ASCO members. Non-members can order print and digital copies at GuidelineCentral.com/ASCO and within the free Guideline Central app in iTunes and Google Play. Bulk orders and digital licenses will also be offered for institutions and other organizations.

For information on ordering, or for companies interested in distributing ASCO's pocket guidelines, contact [email protected].
