Good Samaritan Hospital is upgrading its blood bank from paper records to an automated transfusion management system in conjunction with an initiative to automate the entire hospital. SafeTrace Tx is transfusion management software which provides comprehensive tracking of orders, specimens, blood products, derivatives, and accessories with a complete testing and transfusion history in one consolidated record. These complex features will assist Good Samaritan's technologists in selecting appropriate blood products for their patients and help to reduce waste and increase efficiency.

Steven Jones, B.S. MT(ASCP), Laboratory Director for Good Samaritan Hospital, stated, "Ease of use and confidence in the product were the top reasons for choosing SafeTrace Tx. We wanted to streamline our process and SafeTrace Tx will allow our staff to access critical patient information in one convenient location without switching to multiple screens. Fewer screens equal savings in time and money for our department."

Mr. Jones continued, "We were also attracted to Wyndgate's product because of the Company's reputation in the industry for delivering good products and service. It was impressive that SafeTrace Tx was developed by medical technologists who understand our processes and our challenges. We will be using PeopleMed's validation services to go live sooner and achieve a higher level of quality control and risk management."

Wm. Scott Dustin, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Global Med Technologies, commented, "We are happy to be working with Good Samaritan Hospital to automate their blood bank. The inventory features in SafeTrace Tx will allow Good Samaritan to utilize computer systems to help reduce errors in the lab as well as accurately track blood distribution throughout their facility. Good Samaritan decided on SafeTrace Tx early in their process because of Wyndgate's experience in converting paper records to an automated system, as well as our prior success interfacing with Orchard systems."
