PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- GlaxoSmithKline, one of the world's leading research-based pharmaceutical and healthcare companies, has announced the recipients of the GlaxoSmithKline 12th Annual IMPACT Awards for providing access to community healthcare services. Each Pennsylvania-based nonprofit will receive a $40,000 award. A ceremony will be held on Tuesday, March 17 at GlaxoSmithKline in Philadelphia where grants will go to:

Breastfeeding Resource Center, located in Glenside, Pa., provides expert clinical breastfeeding services to families, regardless of income, and serves as a resource for evidence-based breastfeeding information for healthcare professionals (www.breastfeedingresourcecenter.org).



Casa Guadalupe Center of Allentown, Pa., provides services for children, youth, adults and elderly residents in the areas of health, education and social service (www.casalv.org).

Public Citizens for Children and Youth of Philadelphia improves the lives and life chances of children in the Philadelphia region through thoughtful and informed advocacy (www.pccy.org).



Resources for Children's Health, located in Philadelphia, promotes positive parenting, healthy pregnancies, and the health and well-being of children and families (www.phmc.org/rch).

About the GlaxoSmithKline IMPACT Awards: To qualify for a GlaxoSmithKline IMPACT Award, applicants must provide access to community healthcare services (primary mission) in the Pennsylvania counties of Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lancaster, Lehigh, Montgomery or Philadelphia; have a total annual operating budget of less than $2.5 million; and have been in existence as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization for at least five years.
