GHI to Provide Independent Personal Health Advocate for Medicare Members

NEW YORK, Oct. 17 Effective January 1, 2008, Group HealthIncorporated (GHI) has announced that its more than 10,000 GHI Medicare ChoicePPO members may now call a toll-free number to speak with their ownindependent Personal Health Advocate (PHA) for help with healthcare andadministrative issues. This new service is made available through HealthAdvocate, Inc., the nation's leading health advocacy and assistance company.

Personal Health Advocates, typically highly trained Registered Nursesbacked by a team of medical directors and administrative experts, helpMedicare members resolve a range of issues including insurance claims,billing, and payment problems. They help find the best doctors and hospitals;get second opinions; secure appointments with specialists, and researchtreatment options, as well as locate other providers. Personal HealthAdvocates also provide assistance with eldercare issues; help explain amedical condition; coordinate and arrange wellness services, and arrangetransportation through community services, where available.
