Bogged down by multiple user IDs and passwords, redundant patient queriesand other struggles to access patient data more efficiently, CTRC staffembraced the opportunity to use Fusion. Where CTRC care providers had onceinvested excessive time accessing and retrieving information from disparatesystems, they began to save time with Fusion by navigating multiple, separatesystems using a single login and patient information search.

"Fusion allows our care providers to access comprehensive summaries ofpatient data that parallel cancer care processes in a fraction of the time ittook previously," said David Hotchkiss, CTRC's Director of InformationSystems. "With Fusion, our multidisciplinary clinical care team is able tosave precious time with the streamlined workflow and make more informedpatient care decisions."

In use at nearly 300 facilities nationwide, Fusion from Carefx seamlesslyintegrates patient information from diverse applications and databases at theuser-interface level. By implementing Fusion, CTRC has saved on expensesassociated with deploying multiple interfaces for database integration and haskept its overall cost of ownership down. Fusion presents the user with astreamlined look at relevant clinical data, where and when the user needs it.Fusion reduces the time CTRC clinicians must invest in searching for andaccessing information needed to diagnose and treat patients.

"Carefx worked closely with our team to understand the unique needs ofCTRC and the approach we use in delivering care to cancer patients," Hotchkisssaid. "Carefx took the time to clearly comprehend our requirements byanalyzing workflows and understanding the optimal user experience. Theydelivered a solution that not only met our requirements but also beat anon-budget and aggressive 90-day implementation schedule."

"Carefx understands that CTRC, and every other healthcare organization, needs to leverage their existing technology investments," said Andrew Hurd,Chairman and CEO of Carefx.
