Auction to Help Children with Special Needs

OREM, Utah, April 19 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Friday's Kids Respite 2010 Lifting Angels Auction is rapidly approaching and the non-profit organization has begun selling tickets to the event and is continuing to gather items for the silent auction. The event will take place Saturday, May 1st, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Springville Museum of Art. As its major annual fund-raising campaign, and with more than 100 diverse items to auction, Friday's Kids hopes the event will raise $9,000 to aid the non-profit organization in continuing to provide free relief to families of children with special needs.

Friday's Kids Respite is a free service provided to families with children who have special needs and are waiting to receive help from the state government, a wait time averaging five years. The auction will raise critical funds to provide parents of children with special needs a much deserved night off from their role as 24-hour caregivers.  Free childcare is available again this year to the first 100 children that sign up.

"Friday's Kids is an organization crucial to the health and well-being of families with children with special needs.  We could not function without the dedication and love our volunteers provide us each and every respite night," says Teresa Tuck, Executive Director of Friday's Kids Respite.

Friday's Kids hopes the auction will attract a diverse group of people throughout the state who support children with special needs and are looking to be part of something meaningful. Tickets may be purchased online for $20/person, $50/group at www.FridaysKids.org. A list of the auction items is available online.
