As part of Hope Lodge's wellness program, FreshDirect's nutritionalexperts will lead a hands-on cooking demonstration to highlight healthy andtime-saving meal and snack solutions that can be easily prepared after atiring day of treatment. FreshDirect's Corporate Nutritionist, Eileen Vider,M.S., R.D. and FreshDirect Research and Development Chef Kim Gaylord will alsoshare practical tips on how to create well-balanced meals that promoteincreased energy levels throughout the day. They'll also discuss appropriateportion sizes to ensure an optimal balance of nutrients in their diet. Thenutritional seminar will aim to leave participants full of valuableinformation and wonderful food.

Vider and Gaylord will present recipe favorites from the American CancerSociety's The Great American Eat-Right Cookbook, featuring a full menu ofdelicious, nutrient-rich meals and snacks that will satisfy from breakfast todinner. Participants will be involved both in tasting and learning how toprepare healthy menu items including blueberry-peach-pomegranate smoothies,veggie tortilla pizzas, turkey tacos, rosemary infused popcorn and trail mix.Following the demonstration, those present will be invited to enjoy a turkeytaco dinner with the FreshDirect team, offering an informal opportunity tocontinue the dialogue on nutrition and health.
