SAN FRANCISCO and REDDING, Calif., Nov. 8 StateCompensation Insurance Fund is presenting a free safety and health seminar aspart of State Fund's Employer Education Series, featuring its own innovativeand acclaimed back-injury-prevention process: State Fund's BackConnection(TM). The three-hour seminar entitled "Watch Your Back" introducesan educational and easy-to-use DVD that shows employers how they can involvethe very people they are trying to protect -- their employees -- in thisinteractive back-injury-prevention program. Specialists from State Fund'sErgonomics Services Unit will present a complete overview of the DVD'sfeatures on Tuesday morning, November 13, in the Shasta Builders' ExchangeTraining Center, Redding.

Offered only to current State Fund policyholders and at no charge, theseminar will provide attendees with a complimentary copy of the DVD forhands-on participation during the session, and implementation afterwards atthe workplace. Employers will learn how to evaluate their operations, identifyunsafe acts, compare alternatives for reducing the chance of injury, andimplement/monitor methods of injury loss prevention. State Fund's BackConnection(TM) provides all the resources employers need to develop aneffective back-injury-prevention process customized to their business.

Back-injury prevention has always been a difficult process for businessowners to address. State Fund invites employers who have a laptop/notebook to bring it to theseminar to participate in an interactive job analysis. However, this item isnot required for attendance.

The seminar will take place at the Shasta Builders' Exchange TrainingCenter, 2985 Innsbruck Drive, Redding, on Tuesday, November 13, from 9:00 a.m.until 12:00 noon. On-site registration and complimentary continental breakfastbegin at 8:30 a.m. Free parking is available.
