Finding a vaccination clinic will be at the top of the to-do list for many Canadians, especially those with children, the elderly and their caregivers. A renewed, more responsive Vaccines411.ca website has been relaunched recently to make it easier for Canadians to find a vaccination clinic using any smartphone, tablet or desktop computer.
"Our new website has been revamped to respond to the growing number of mobile users," says Francisca Roel, president of FR@SNM and founder of the Vaccines411.ca initiative. "The responsive website automatically scales and adapts according to the visitor's device. By adding over 1200 new clinics, more articles, and new features such as a glossary and FAQs, we think users will find Vaccines411.ca even more helpful for their needs."
After simply entering their postal codes and selecting a vaccine category, users are redirected to a list of vaccination clinics including a growing number of participating pharmacies nearest their homes. Vaccines411.ca provides addresses, phone numbers and Google map links for more than 4700 locations across Canada.
For a limited time, visitors to Vaccines411.ca can also enter for a chance to win a vacation getaway for 2 to the Mayan Riviera in Mexico, courtesy of Transat Holidays and the Grand Sirenis Hotels and Resorts — a $4,000 value.
"Our mission is to help Canadians stay healthy by giving them easy access to their nearest vaccinating clinics and reliable immunization resources," explains Roel. "Our contest will help a couple of lucky Canadians escape the flu and winter season altogether."
A respiratory infection caused by influenza A or B viruses, influenza generally occurs in Canada every year in the fall and winter. Symptoms include the sudden onset of headache, chills, cough, fever, loss of appetite, muscle pain, fatigue, sinus inflammation, sneezing, watery eyes and sore throat. Nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea can also occur, especially in children.
