First Round of Companies to Present at AdvaMed 2008 Selected

Innovative and High Growth Companies to Speak; 2nd Selection Round Begins July 31st



WASHINGTON, July 28 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The first round of presenting companies have been selected for the September 21-24 AdvaMed 2008 MedTech conference. Company presentations offer U.S. and international medical technology innovators and market leaders with a unique business development and information sharing opportunity.



In this initial round, 37 companies have been selected to present to an elite audience of potential investors, strategic partners, and business collaborators at AdvaMed 2008. Company presentations are organized into a number of categories including: Cardiovascular, Dental, Diagnostics, Imaging, Metabolic Disease/Obesity, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics/Spine, Wound Care, Next Generation, and other topics. Applications for round two selections are available online at www.AdvaMed2008.com and the deadline to apply is July 30, 2008.



Companies were selected by a committee of leading business development and licensing executives, venture capitalists, bankers, company CEOs, and other industry experts. To showcase medical technologies earlier in the product development cycle, AdvaMed 2008 will feature a new "Next Generation" presentation group. These companies have either been formed in the last three years or are currently in pre-clinical/pilot trial development.



Of the initial 37 companies, 14 start-ups were selected to give 8-minute presentations in the "Next Generation" group, including:
